Kelley Cheng
Founder and Creative Director of The Press Room.
Kelley Cheng is a modern day polymath who has immersed herself in the roles of editor, writer, curator, spatial and graphic designer, video director, and educator. Trained as an architect, she is the founder and creative director of interdisciplinary design studio The Press Room (www.thepressroom.com.sg), with an interest in conceptual and theoretical design, with varying design outcomes, including books, brands, exhibition and gallery curation/design, interiors, theatre and film sets. She also founded Studio SML (www.studiosml.net), an online archival of Singapore creatives, with a podcast channel. An active educator, she has served as adjunct lecturer in Nanyang Technological University, Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, Glasgow School of Art Singapore and is a Visiting Professor at Hangzhou Academy of Art, China. She has served as the External Examiner for the Master of Architecture course at the National University of Singapore, and is now a senior lecturer of the B.A. Interior Design (Hons) course at LaSalle College of the Arts. Kelley is a respected figure in the international design scene, having been invited as a judge to prestigious design awards including D&AD Awards, Red Dot Awards, Nagoya-Do!, Design for Asia Award, Creative Circle Award, James Dyson Award, Joseph Binder Award etc. In 2019, the National Design Centre presented her 20-year retrospective exhibition “Proportion & Emotion: 20 years in Design with Kelley Cheng”, and in 2021 she was conferred the SkillsFuture Fellowship 2021 for her achievements in the industry, and the President’s Design Award “Designer of the Year 2020”, both presented by the President of Singapore.
Taiwan International Graphic Design Award contains “Taiwan International Poster Design Award”and“Taiwan International CI Design Award.”Based on regulation of international jury, we invite professional design masters across continents to be our jury group. The jury panel of the past years has come from all over around the world, including the United States, Britain, Japan, Sweden, Belgium, Hong Kong, Australia, France, Denmark and other countries.
