Uwe Melichar

Uwe Melichar is an expert in design and packaging. He works as ‘Partner Europe’ at the TOUCH agency in High Wycombe near London and runs the office for Continental Europe in Hamburg. At the established agency for structural packaging innovation, he contributes his expertise as a designer and provides new contacts.

Uwe studied communication design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kiel and was managing partner at the brand agency FACTOR for 25 years. In 2020 he founded MELICHAR Bros. which he managed for over 4 years. Uwe Melichar has realised and works on projects for adidas, Unilever, Nestlé, Bosch, C&A, Gardena and Miele. Together with his English colleagues, he now develops packaging for clients in many European countries, the U.S. and Asia.

He also passes on his expertise to the next generation as a lecturer at several universities, such as the University of Augsburg and gave workshops at CYUT in Taiwan. He is on the jury of the Red Dot and the German Packaging Award, a lifetime-member of the Type Directors Club in New York and Vice President of the European Brand & Packaging Design Association (epda).
